Do you have post registration experience within colorectal surgery and/or oncology and excellent communication skills? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUH) working on the Eastern services site in Exeter, as a Specialist Colorectal Surgery and Oncology Dietitian for a fixed term of 12 months. This post will focus on supporting oncology patients across the colorectal surgical pathways from prehab to rehab in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The dietitian will work closely with the RDUH Colorectal MDTs, GPs and support services.
The post-holder should have post registration experience including within colorectal surgery and/or oncology. Excellent communication skills with patients, their relatives, and a range of health professionals and other teams both within and outside the organisation are essential.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
The post is part of the RDUH (Eastern) Nutrition and Dietetics team and the wider Therapies Department (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapists). The post-holder will be responsible for teaching and leadership within the team working alongside the Oncology Clinical Lead to support the training and development of junior staff, students and other healthcare professionals. Caseloads will be flexible and at times may involve the provision of service to other acute areas of the Trust and may also require working across 7 days.
Working Pattern
4 days to include Monday. Flexible working will be considered.
