Reporting to the Process Manager within the Regulatory and Technical Department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient usage of process chemicals, as well as providing chemical support to regulatory compliance, product safety, and continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities:
• Carry out COSHH assessments and maintain the chemical information system.
• Monitor legislative developments and inform management (REACH, CLP, etc.)
• Monitor chemical dosing and storage systems to ensure they work reliably and effectively
• Deliver troubleshooting support to production processes to help ensure process consistency
• Responding to customer regulatory compliance questions
• Ensure that the Day Lab areas are clean and tidy
• Maintaining stocks of lab consumables for the QC and Day Labs
• Liaising with suppliers to find new/alternative process chemicals (with Product Management).
• Data analysis as required, such as of backwater redox for antimicrobial unit.
• Support laboratory and paper machine trial work with regard to new chemicals.
• Provide technical chemical support to the papermaking processes.
• Chemical support for Regulatory Affairs & Product Safety work.
• Build collaborative relationships with suppliers.

Education and Competence:
Any formal education/certification required:
• Science education – Degree/HND
• Previous experience in chemical or manufacturing industry is desirable.
