We are looking for a trainee Accounts Assistant to join our team. The main purpose of the role is to assist the dealership accountant with the preparation and analysis of key financial information for a number of motor dealerships in our group.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Perform a weekly credit control review and where necessary, communicate any issues with the Accountant and relevant Manager.
2. Process supplier invoices, sending to management for authorisation.
3. Monitor Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger accounts for posting errors, unallocated posting and any other issues.
4. Ensure stationery is fully stocked with essential items and process orders to replenish when necessary, ensuring proper authorisation is given for unessential items.
5. Work with the team to ensure all aspects of the accounts functions are covered.
Securing the Long-Term Efficacy of the Site:
1. Ensure the efficient administration of clerical and reporting procedures throughout the department.
2. Ensure that accounts administrative systems and methods are efficient and adhere to Company as well as manufacturer guidelines.
3. Consistently make sure all month-end, quarterly and yearly deadlines are met.
4. Have an awareness of legislation surrounding the Accounts Administrator role.
5. Perform consistently, even under pressure.
Customer Focus:
1. Work with colleagues to provide excellent customer service by exceeding their expectations.
2. Provide a consistent level of service to both internal and external customers and representatives of the retailer and manufacturer.
3. Ensure good customer contact and maintain an adequate flow of information to all staff.

1. Be able to assimilate and interpret data into meaningful financial information.
2. Can work independently.
3. Will work in a meticulous and methodical manner.
4. Flexible approach to work, willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the whole team.
5. Perform any other duties not in the job description, commensurate with the role, as and when requested by a Manager.

As this role will involve day-to-day interaction with both site and Group Management, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a positive and proactive attitude to managing a high volume of work and conflicting priorities calmly and effectively.
Excellent IT skills including proficiency in all MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel, is also essential. Knowledge of Keyloop Autoline and a background in the motor trade, though not essential, would be a distinct advantage.
