St Peter & St James Hospice is seeking a Distribution Centre Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient running of our Distribution Centre. This role is critical in ensuring our donated and new goods are processed, distributed, and utilised to generate maximum income for our vital hospice services.
* Location: St Peter & St James Distribution Centre, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, BN6 9ES
* Salary: £26,690 - £31,785 per annum (will increase from 1st April 2025)

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Operations Management: Oversee the Distribution Centre, collection/delivery service, and house clearance operations to ensure they are running efficiently, safely, and effectively.
* Maximising Gift Aid Income: Lead processes that increase Gift Aid sign-ups, stock management, and sales performance.
* Health & Safety & Compliance: Ensure all Health & Safety protocols are followed, equipment is properly maintained, and risk assessments are up to date.
* Team Leadership & Development: Manage, train, and inspire a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring they have the support and knowledge to excel in their roles.
* Customer & Donor Service: Provide outstanding service to donors, customers, and stakeholders, ensuring a positive experience and repeat support.
* Collaboration & Growth: Work closely with the Retail team, Online sales, and Fundraising teams to enhance stock rotation, increase revenue, and improve processes.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in warehouse or logistics management (charity retail experience desirable).
* Strong leadership and people management skills – ability to train, develop, and motivate a diverse team.
* Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Health & Safety knowledge within a warehouse or retail environment.
* Ability to work flexibly, including occasional weekends, to meet operational needs.
* A full UK driving licence (experience driving a 3.5-tonne van is a plus!).
