We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our forward-looking Marine Power Team. The position is permanent and location in Segensworth, UK.
What you will be doing:
1. Executing daily workshop service tasks, such as: component inspections, overhauling /reconditioning, modifications, cleaning, machining, on a variety of 4-stroke engine components. Components include cylinder heads, pistons, connecting rods, fuel injection equipment, auxiliary pumps, coolers, to name a few. The role requirements are varied and suitably challenging to keep this role interesting.
2. Undergoing the appropriate training to gain the competencies needed to excel in this role.
3. Liaising closely with the Workshop Team Leader and other Workshop Technicians to ensure work scopes are kept within specified delivery schedule.
4. Ensuring that all activities in the workshop and on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standard ISO 45001/2018.
5. Ensuring that all work is carried out to ISO 9001/2015 standards.
6. Playing an integral part in the workshop team. Striving to achieve common goals and customer requirements, whereby working overtime hours can be required.
7. Adopting a pleasant, adaptable attitude towards any “ad-hoc” duties that may arise.
8. Carrying out proactive preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment.
9. Performing all tasks in a way to ensure maximum stakeholder (internal and external) satisfaction.
You will shine in this role, when you have:
10. HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or can demonstrate equivalent practical experiences.
11. Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or can demonstrate equivalent practical experiences.
12. Worked to ISO 45001/2018 and ISO9001/2015 standards.
13. Experience in the Marine Sector and specifically in maintaining 4-stroke engines.
14. A genuine interest in Engineering and working with your hands.
We will require you to:
15. Have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
16. Commute daily to Segensworth, Fareham.
