Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)
Our client is a residential aged care facility located in Torquay, QLD. They are currently looking to fill 3 Personal Care Worker Roles within their facility, with work commencing from January 2025 onwards.
Key duties include:
As a Personal Care Worker, you will provide quality direct care services in line with Australia’s Aged Care Quality Standards and service policies to clients including:
1. Deliver person centred care to residents in line with identified needs and care plan.
2. Organise own workload and set priorities for the day with minimal supervision but in consultation with the RN and EN.
3. Assist the resident with activities of daily living including showering and toileting, dressing and undressing, transfers and general mobility, sensory and communication needs, daily exercise program.
4. Assist with the distribution of meals ensuring they are of adequate variety, quality and quantity for each resident.
5. Feed residents needing assistance at mealtimes.
6. Change the residents bed linen in line with the linen change day schedule and as needed.
7. Assist in the provision of an attractive, comfortable and safe environment.
8. Provide ongoing long-term support to residents suffering from dementia or other psychiatric conditions as diagnosed by a medical professional.
9. Support and encourage resident participation in Leisure and Lifestyle activities.
10. Respect the residents' privacy, dignity, attitudes and religious beliefs.
11. Ensure resident information remains confidential.
You will be paid under Aged Care Award – Level 1, at an hourly rate of $28.60 per hour, with a minimum of 38 hours of work per week. This will be aligned with the Fair Work Commission's annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay. You will be offered between 1-4 years of work with potential to upskill.

2. Empathy and understanding of people who are aged, have medical conditions, dementia or challenging behaviour.
3. Respect for the resident’s environment and their other carers including family and significant others.
4. A positive attitude to work, with a willingness to learn and commit to Health+ Peoples and our client’s values.
