Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Initial 12 month FTC
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum, Car Allowance, 33 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits scheme
About the Job
You’ll have an important part to play in this role initially a 12 month Fixed Term Contract ensuring all direct assets and resources deployed upon the client Transport Contract are continuously utilised to their optimal capacity.

As a Transport Planning and Development Manager you will act as the main point of contact for all resource related project or day to day activity and represent the client Transport Management team at performance reviews and at other forums
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
Create and maintain daily asset resource plans, responding with agility to changing priorities and effectively communicating those changes to the internal and external stakeholders
Identify where and when periods of under-utilisation cannot be filled with core demand, and liaise with internal Partners to identify additional activity that can be undertaken adding economic value
Produce daily, weekly and monthly reporting to demonstrate plan versus actual fluctuations against key ratios and their impact to operating cost
Ensuring all available technology is employed to its full potential
Ensuring all Transport related productivity measures are tracked and improved where required
About You

Transport planning experience
A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
A high degree of initiative and strong problem-solving capability
Experience of working with digital planning software (Paragon, DiPS etc would be advantageous)
Ability to compile and interpret key transport related commercial and operational data
A strong understanding and experience with Logistics & Supply Chain Operations and considered an SME in Transport Operations
Experience in utilising tracking solution such as Microlise
Certified Transport Manager Refresher Course (or qualification) achieved recently (Advantageous)
