Hours: Shift work including 7:30 am – 3:00 pm & 2:30 pm – 10:00 pm (Rota-based) DBS Required: Yes Purpose of Job: Work directly with families, observing and recording parental abilities to meet children's safety and care needs. Ensure parents/carers prioritize the safety and welfare of their children. Create a supportive learning environment for parents and children. Provide childcare while parents/carers attend sessions. Facilitate individual and group sessions tailored to family needs. Lead playroom activities such as Baby Massage, Baby Sensory, Messy Play, and Musical Babies (training provided). Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensure child safety and welfare remains central to assessments and interventions. 2. Actively contribute to child and family assessments through observation, supervision, recording, and evaluation. 3. Provide a service that values the strengths and backgrounds of families. 4. Participate in team meetings to enhance Centre practices and resources. 5. Use sensitivity and common sense in guiding parenting practices. 6. Offer structured feedback to parents at the end of each shift. 7. Manage workload effectively to meet written documentation deadlines. 8. Assist with childcare duties as necessary. 9. Liaise with managers and external agencies as needed. 10. Work as part of a team to provide a culturally sensitive service. 11. Uphold equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practices. 12. Implement Child Protection Procedures and follow Centre policies. 13. Engage in training and supervision to support professional development. 14. Maintain awareness of health and safety responsibilities at work. 15. Provide evidence in court when necessary. 16. Undertake additional duties as assigned by management. Flexibility to meet the needs of the Centre. Assessments and observations may require movement throughout the building. Assisting families and babies during emergency evacuations.
