We are looking for a Boilerplant Attendant to join the Boiler Plant team at our Rotherham site. The Boiler Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, operation and first line maintenance of the Boiler Plant that provides essential services to the steel production plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and operate the Boiler Plant, ensuring efficient performance.
* Perform first line maintenance and breakdown repairs, including basic mechanical and pipefitting repairs.
* Supervise deliveries of Boiler Plant chemicals and ensure adherence to delivery procedures.
* Work closely with Works Services Fitters and liaise with Section Engineers for repairs and improvements.
* Monitor alarms from outside plant and utilities, taking appropriate action.
* Ensure continuity of services by determining priorities and working unsupervised.
* Provide routine maintenance and ensure steam generation meets demand for batch processes.
* Supervise and monitor activities of specialist contractors, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Work flexibly and apply urgency, reason, and logic to breakdowns and incidents.
Working Hours:
* This role requires working 6am-6pm on a 12-hour shift basis.
* The Boilerplant operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, requiring team members to work weekends and Bank holidays.
Qualifications:
* Good understanding of boiler and water plant operations.
* Ideally hold the Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) / Certified Industrial Boiler Operator (CertIBO) qualification.
* Familiarity with basic computer applications (training will be provided).
