Do you have experience working with young people in social care?
Do you live within a commutable distance to Shropshire (Shrewsbury, Wem, Telford, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Newport)?
Are you comfortable when working with young people with behavioural difficulties?
A specialist provider in Shropshire is seeking a number of strong and confident Children's Support Workers to join their team on an ad-hoc/bank basis. The provider is a specialist group for young people with social emotional mental health needs and autism. Some of the residents are highly anxious and can become unpredictable if not taken care with.
As a Children's Support Worker, you will be part of a small team, supporting the home and residents with various tasks including managing the residents to make sure they have eaten, are maintaining their personal hygiene, managing their behaviours in relation to other residents and possible locals in the neighbourhood who they may come across. It may also include taking residents on scheduled day out to places such as the cinema, bowling or out for food.
