Principal’s Introduction A small school with big ambition It is my pleasure to introduce you to our school. Located on the fringe of Walsall Town Centre, Studio School and Sixth is the first and only Studio School in the Black Country. Specialising in creative industry qualifications, students travel from across Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Birmingham and Wolverhampton to access our unique offer. As Principal of Walsall Studio School, I feel privileged to lead a school which prides itself on providing the highest standard of education for all students, regardless of their background. Our aspiration for all students is threefold. Firstly, we expect all students to be challenged academically to achieve ‘their best’. Secondly, by providing students with a first-class vocational curriculum, we seek to transform students into ‘young creative professionals’. Thirdly, and most importantly, through ongoing guidance and coaching, all students are challenged to undertake a journey of personal growth and development that prepares them well for life. Join our Studio School Team We are looking to recruit several casual invigilators that are crucial in the smooth running of the school’s examination process. Candidates must be competent and flexible to provide invigilation, scribing and reading in the support of pupils. Examinations take place at various times during the year with the main exams in May and June. An ideal candidate will be extremely reliable and have effective communication skills with pupils and staff. You will have a good standard of education, including literacy and numeracy. Although preferred prior experience isn’t completely necessary as training will be provided to all invigilators. The role requires you to support the Exams Officer in the setting up and administration of examinations. Co-ordinating invigilators and paying particular attention to all JCQ regulations are being followed. If you are hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic and flexible with good verbal communication skills along with an eye for detail we would like to hear from you. Staff must have the ability to engage well with students and should be committed to working as part of a close-knit team. The Studio School and Sixth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
