Role Overview
Manage the daily operations of Wednesbury Treatment Plant, overseeing Wednesbury Transfer Station and Wednesbury Packaged Goods Transport. Prioritize safety, health, and environmental goals while improving operational efficiency, financial performance, and customer service. Develop the site team and promote a proactive safety culture, working closely with the Site Manager and other key personnel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives to reduce incidents and improve reporting.
2. Ensure compliance with permits, licenses, and legal requirements, maintaining a high standard during site inspections.
3. Review and optimize treatment methods and site capacity to meet customer demands efficiently.
4. Control operational costs to meet budget targets, aiming for consistent overachievement.
5. Manage human resources, including staffing, performance, and policy implementation.
6. Participate in and lead new project developments and implementations.
7. Collaborate with waste management professionals in a transparent, diverse environment.
Minimum Requirements
1. Degree in Chemical Science or Engineering.
2. Experience managing operational teams in the Hazardous Waste industry, preferably in Chemical Treatment or Transfer Stations.
3. Proven ability in risk assessments, incident investigations, and managing compliance with hazardous waste legislation.
4. Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
5. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
6. Ability to solve problems independently and adapt to changing priorities.
