The primary responsibility of the Stores Assistant role is to support the effective supply of ROV components, materials, and consumables. This role involves working closely with the Stores Person and Supply Chain Team to ensure goods are received, issued, and recorded efficiently, with accurate inventory management and robust controls in place.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* This role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation of inventory and supply processes while supporting the team in maintaining high standards of efficiency and organisation.
* Support the adherence to company policies and procedures in all work activities.
* Assist with stock and equipment by monitoring stock levels to minimise workshop downtime.
* Help issue goods to workshop personnel from consigned stock, ensuring stock quantities remain within minimum/maximum thresholds.
* Assist the receipt of goods by checking that items and quantities match purchase orders.
* Confirm that received items meet specified requirements and ensure all relevant consignment paperwork is in place.
* Report any damaged, missing items, or quality issues.
* Follow global shipping requirements, assisting with proper packaging and labeling of goods for international dispatch.
* Pick, pack, and label goods accurately for dispatch, ensuring all dispatched items are controlled and recorded.
* Assist with booking stock in and out of the workshop using asset tracking software.
* Work alongside the Supply Chain Team to implement and maintain effective inventory processes that ensure high levels of stock and inventory accuracy.
* Conduct perpetual stock checks and provide support during detailed stock audits for the Supply Chain Team.
* Help organise the workshop space, optimise storage, and maintain a safe, clean, and well-ordered working environment.
* Assist in resolving internal queries by collaborating with relevant departments.
* Continuously look for ways to improve operational processes within the department.
* Support the unloading of delivery vehicles and arrange courier collections in coordination with the Logistics Coordinator and Stores person.
* Operate forklifts when necessary to assist with stock movement.
* Provide driving support using company vehicle as required.
* Offer cover and additional support for other members of the Supply Chain Team as needed.
* Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the company.
QHSE Responsibilities
* Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do, or not do.
* Co-operate with your employer on health and safety matters.
* Utilise provided recycling facilities.
* Clean up and report any spills.
* Correctly use work items provided by your employer, including PPE in accordance with training and instructions.
* Not to interfere with, or misuse anything provided for your health and safety, or welfare.
* Report all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality concerns to the HSEQ Manager.
* Work to Film-Ocean HSEQ processes and procedures and inform the HSEQ Manager of any omissions or changes required.
* Ensure that safety policies and procedures are implemented, understood and adhered to at the work location, so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
* Promote a proactive commitment to Film-Ocean’s HSEQ initiatives.
* Correctly use work items provided by your employer, including PPE in accordance with training.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role within an industrial workshop environment.
* Familiarity with stores management and stock control processes.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft applications and inventory control systems.
* Valid forklift certification and driving license.
* General awareness of safety training and procedures.
