A small rapidly growing environmental consultancy based in Newcastle is looking to hire an experienced Principal Ecologist to further develop their business and lead on projects. You will join a dedicated team who pride themselves on offering more than just ecology services to a broad range of clients. You will be tasked to win, deliver a range of ecological surveys and assessments, working alongside the company's managing director. As part of your role, you will help in the training and mentoring of junior consultants. You will take the lead in managing your own projects and have previous experience delivering desktop surveys, protected species and habitat surveys, and ecological impact assessments.
To be considered for this role you will:
* Hold protected species licenses (ideally a level 2 Bat Licence)
* Have previous experience managing a range of surveys
* Be comfortable training and leading junior staff
* Have CIEEM membership
