Job summary
The Market Surgery in Aylsham, have a fantastic opportunity for nurse team leader to lead and supervise the team. The position is offered on a part-time basis of 26 hours per week and the successful applicant will have to commit to working on a Friday.
Main duties of the job
This key role within the practice, will lead and supervise the nursing team, providing safe, effective, reactive and proactive nursing services to the practice population.
1. Provide clinical care for practice patients.
2. Implement new clinical services after agreement by the practice.
3. Act as the practice lead for better working with other nursing services providing care for our patients.
4. Attend practice/primary care meetings updating the partners and management with relevant information.
5. Have regular meetings with the nursing team to understand any clinical or organisation problems.
6. Work closely with the practice manager to manage staff within the nursing team.
7. Identify training needs of the nursing team and actively promote life-long learning, and continuous improvement.
8. Working with other health care professionals and in line with policy, to diagnose, monitor and manage patients with diabetes, asthma, obesity etc.
9. Wound Care and management.
10. Lead the development and monitoring of key quality markers for clinical practice.

The Market Surgery is a busy seven doctor practice providing care to over 10,000 patients in and around Aylsham in North Norfolk. Working from purpose-built premises, located a short walking distance from the centre of Aylsham, we aim to provide a friendly and efficient service to patients fulfilling all their primary care needs. All our consulting rooms are on the ground floor, we have a dispensary next to the reception area and we have a car park for the use of our patients. The practice is part of North and Waveney Integrated Care Service. We are a training practice for GP Registrars and medical students.
