Senior Support Worker – Boveridge College Location: Cranborne, Dorset Salary: £13.77-£14.41 per hour Hours : 12 hour shifts, 8am-8pm- average 42 hours per week spread over 3-4 shifts per week At our Aurora Boveridge College, we support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional and mental health needs, by preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training or employment. We’re currently hiring for a Senior Support Worker to assist our students at home (on-site) and in the classroom (no personal care responsibilities). Our working environment is amazing - To take a virtual tour around our site, click here; Boveridge Virtual Tour The main purpose of the role: Your role will provide support to the Shift Manager (and deputising in their absence) in managing motivating and coaching a team of support workers to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first. Key duties: Ensure that the medical needs of the young people are met at all times Ensure that all young people receive a high standard of care and live in a safe, clean and homely environment Communicate with Managers about the day to day running of the home and when any difficulties arise. Take responsibility for the shift, including making decisions regarding staffing levels and allocation in the absence of the Shift Manager. Complete regular supervisions and support the process of formal performance review To encourage independent living skills through budgeting, shopping, cooking and accessing the wider community including public transport and leisure activities or own interests. Support the induction of new team members and their continued mentoring. Keep records accurately and up-to-date Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times There will be no personal care requirements for this role. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
