Leading Norwich based engineering business now have a position available for Quality Inspector.

The role exists to ensure that all products meet the quality requirements of the customer and the organisation and, as a hands-on mechanical inspector, you will be responsible for executing general inspection functions both visual and dimensional, including correctly and properly using mechanical measuring devices and reporting results.
Responsibilities of this position include:
1. Perform complete inspections to engineering drawings.
2. Conduct measurements using precision instruments such as micrometres, vernier callipers, dial test indicators.
3. Locate datum’s on parts and measure dimensions such as angle, arc and radii using a combination of aids such as parallel bars, gauge blocks, v blocks, sine bars and precision measuring instruments.
4. Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess in process manufacturing variations.
5. Report quality problems or findings and follow up to ensure corrective action has been put in place.
6. Interact with different departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate acceptance of parts.
7. Inspect surface coatings such as anodising, phosphate and paint to specifications.
8. Check commercial off the shelf items conform to specifications required and the relevant documentation has been received.
Essential attributes:
1. Good computer and communication skills.
2. Good attention to detail.
3. A positive ‘can do’ approach.
4. Full Driving Licence to drive in the UK and abroad.
5. Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
6. The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
7. Good working knowledge of engineering drawings including GD&T.
8. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight schedules.
