We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Deputy Premises Manager & Compliance Officer. In this role, you will work closely with the School Business Manager, Estates Manager, and Caretaking team, and be responsible for deputising for the Estates Manager in their absence. Spending time at each of our 6 campuses you will also act as the first point of contact for the caretaking team, overseeing and prioritising their daily tasks related to health and safety, maintenance, cleaning, and security of the school’s buildings and grounds. There is a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to have access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the multi campus working requirement. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the school environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for all staff and students. Manage the day-to-day workload of the caretaking team, ensuring effective completion of tasks. Oversee health and safety protocols, building maintenance, cleaning, and security of the premises. Deputise for the Estates Manager when needed, ensuring continuity in the operation of the estates function. Promote a safety-first culture through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and safety meetings. Maintain up-to-date records of HSE activities and ensure all legal and regulatory compliance checks are completed Collaborate with class-based and support teams to implement health and safety initiatives and drive improvements. Coordinate and participate in emergency drills and evacuations, ensuring readiness for fire, lockdown, or other emergencies. Requirements: Qualifications: Degree, A-levels, NVQ Level 4, HND, or a relevant diploma (or equivalent experience). IOSH Working Safely certification (or equivalent). Minimum of 2 years' experience in a health and safety role or similar. Strong understanding of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices. Proven experience in managing staff and handling performance management. Experience in managing projects and overseeing works.
