The successful applicant will participate in outpatient activity leading and managing both specialist VR and general ophthalmology clinics, be involved in preoperative management prior to surgery, and in all aspects of the operative care of the patients. It is anticipated that the surgeon will spend the equivalent of at two sessions in the operating theatre and three/four sessions a week in outpatient clinic in addition to administrative. The successful applicant will participate in outpatient activity leading and managing both specialist VR, MR and general ophthalmology clinics, be involved in preoperative management prior to surgery, and in all aspects of the operative care of the patients. It is anticipated that the surgeon will spend the equivalent of at two sessions in the operating theatre and three/four sessions a week in outpatient clinic in addition to administrative, management, clinical governance and supporting professional activity duties. S/he will work closely with clinical colleague, nursing and other allied health care staff in order to enhance the level of patient care at the Trust. The final allocation of patient contact time, including theatre and clinics will be agreed in discussion with the Clinical Director.
