Do you have a keen interest in improving the sustainability and overall effectiveness of the waste sector, and an enthusiasm for developing solutions to complex and challenging problems? If so, we are recruiting for high-calibre experienced waste sector engineering consultants, ideally work winners, to join our business at WSP.
We are interested in the right people and are open to candidates from Senior Project Engineer to Technical Director level.
Responsibilities
* Deliver solutions for our clients while furthering your knowledge and professional development.
* Lead and provide support to clients across a wide range of waste and resource recovery technologies.
* Provide technical guidance concerning the application and performance of waste treatment processes and technologies.
* Assess the ability of processes to deliver required performance and undertake technical due diligence for potential transactions.
* Prepare and/or review design deliverables including specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, drawings, and schedules.
* Undertake technical appraisal of tenders and contracts.
* Develop feasibility and scoping studies.
* Conduct asset condition surveys and assess compliance with health and safety regulations, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
* Advise or assess testing and commissioning of equipment and installations.
* Provide expert opinion on the planned and actual performance of assets, processes, and equipment items.
* Maintain projects and communication with clients.
* Participate in proposals, scoping work packages, and resourcing/time estimates.
* Coach and mentor discipline staff and contribute to the technical development of skills throughout the wider team.
Qualifications:
* Engineering experience relating to the waste sector, ideally with experience in multiple technology and site types.
* Willingness to travel to support project delivery.
* Exceptional time management skills.
* A methodical approach to problem solving and a high level of attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills.
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Professional affiliation with or membership of an appropriate body or chartership.
