Position Summary
The Maintenance Assistant provides quality maintenance functions to the facility in accordance with all laws, regulations, and Company standards. Reports to the Director of Maintenance.
Essential Functions
1. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
2. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
3. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
4. Must be able to assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
5. Must be able to inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
6. Must be able to run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, lift, and move heavy furniture and equipment.
7. Must be able to practice dependable, regular attendance.
8. Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

License, Education, and Experience
1. High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
2. Must have a minimum of one (1) year of maintenance experience.
3. Must have proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
4. Must be knowledgeable of local building codes and ordinances.
5. Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
