A Specialist School just outside of Bath is seeking a committed graduate to join their team as a Behaviour Support Assistant, starting ASAP. In this role, you'll support children aged 4 to 18 who face behavioural challenges, including those stemming from diagnosed social, emotional, or mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with students to address and manage behavioural challenges.
2. Promote positive decision-making and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
3. Create a safe and supportive learning environment to help students stay focused.
4. Foster healthy relationships between students, staff, and peers.
5. Provide emotional support, helping students develop self-regulation and coping skills.
6. Encourage the social and emotional growth of students.
Qualifications:
1. A degree in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field.
2. A passion for working with young people, particularly those with behavioural and emotional challenges.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
5. Experience working with children and/or adults with special needs (desirable but not essential).
This Behaviour Support Assistant role is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in mental health, education and training, and student support.
