Senior Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) Technician
Renfrew based with occasional site deployments required
The Asset Management Team at Altrad Babcock are currently looking for a Senior RVI Equipment Technician to join us and to provide a lead role in the management, maintenance and future development of Remote Operations equipment within Asset Management.

The role is mainly based at our Renfrew facility, but will require occasional site deployment, across the UK (including some extended outage deployment), and occasional international travel. Excellent organisational and strategic skills, attention to detail, teamwork, a ‘can do’ attitude, creative problem solving, plus flexibility for occasional short notice travel are all great attributes to bring to this role.
We are looking for a diligent, detail oriented, professional and hardworking individual with a strong electrical/electronic/C&I background, experience of equipment management and excellent IT skills. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication with peers, suppliers and customers and excellent organisational ability are a requirement of the role. Experience with radiological protection and permitry, knowledge of procurement and requisition processes, PAT testing, and experience with the use of remote visual inspections and videoscope/ROV equipment are advantageous.

Job Description Principal Duties:
• Manage and maintain the Remote Ops Equipment Management system (currently using WASP AssetCloud), ensuring that the location and status of all Remote Ops equipment is correctly recorded and tracked at all times.
• Ensure that the Radiological permit for contaminated equipment storage is correctly maintained and all permit conditions are met at all times. Provide RPS and Health Physics support for contaminated equipment management.
• Prepare Remote Ops equipment according to specification for use on Nuclear and Fossil utility sites, and arrange shipment of clean and radiologically contaminated equipment (under UN2910) to and from power station sites.
• Ensure that remote ops equipment (including borescopes, videoscopes, drop/push cameras and remotely operated vehicles and submarines) is maintained in serviceable condition and within PAT, and undertake or arrange maintenance and repair of faulty equipment.
• Maintain, manage and improve equipment management procedures, forms and records.
• Purchase and maintain stock of consumables for remote ops purposes.
The role is based at Renfrew, but involves occasional field work on nuclear, conventional and industrial plants across the UK. May include some work abroad as required.
Qualifications and Certifications:
• Qualified to HNC or higher, or min. 5 years experience working on industrial sites in a technical or mechanical role. Engineering qualification to foundation or degree level optional but may be beneficial.
• Experience or qualification in electrical, electronic or C&I engineering. PAT testing qualification desirable.
• Excellent IT skills. Experience in asset management software, script/macro writing, advanced Excel skills are desirable.
• Beneficial qualifications: RPS/HP training, Nuclear security clearance (CTC or SC), IOSH Managing Safely. Membership in a professional institution is encouraged. Attributes and Behaviours:

• Excellent capability to coach and develop junior technicians to a high standard of expertise.
• Willingness to travel and flexible work hours, including occasional shift and weekend work (overtime payments available).
Full UK Driving license is beneficial.
