We are currently looking for an early career air quality consultant to specifically assist with climate change assessments, dust and air quality impact assessments, ADMS Roads and ADMS point source modelling to support planning applications. Applicants should ideally already have some consultancy experience, but newly qualified candidates will also be considered.
We are a small, independent, employee-owned environmental consultancy firm based in Oxfordshire that specialises in dust and air quality monitoring, consultancy and assessment. There are essentially three areas of our business:
1. Dust and Air Quality consultancy (including Indoor Air Quality and Occupational Exposure assessment)
2. Dust monitoring equipment design, manufacture, supply and installation
3. Dust sample analysis and characterisation, including forensic investigations
As an employee-owned business (EOB) our core values are collaboration, professionalism and the application of scientific rigour. Our consultancy team undertake a range of expert dust, odour, air quality and climate change assessments typically for planners, developers, energy and mineral sector clients. A key part of your role will be supporting the delivery of assessments using a range of predictive models, and your work will mainly be desk-based. Site work may be required occasionally to meet our clients and to advise on their industries and operations. Our work ranges from one-off assessments to complex on-going expert witness cases. Support work includes assisting in project management, preparing quotes, and management of routine data collection and analysis.
You may be required to assist in other areas of the business as required, such as helping with laboratory analytical work including optical microscopy.
Role Requirements:
Education and Experience
* A level maths or equivalent is required. A relevant degree (minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng or MSc), such as Environmental Science, Geography, Meteorology etc.
* Preferably 1-2 years previous consultancy work experience (relevant placements and internships will be considered)
Language and Technical Skills
* Good command of written and spoken English and have a high standard of report writing
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel applications
* Preferably experience carrying out complex data routines, using GIS software and an understanding of air quality dispersion modelling using ADMS Roads. Full training will be given.
* Experience in Python or R
* Laboratory skills such as using optical microscopes desirable
* Attention to detail is essential
* Friendly and courteous telephone manner

* UK permit to work
* Full UK driving license desirable

Details
Location - Witney, Oxfordshire, office-based with future potential for hybrid working
Contract - Permanent, full-time (typically Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00).
Start Date - Flexible, but ideally as soon as possible
Salary - £25,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience
