Forsyth Barnes are delighted to be representing a football club in the English Football League who are on the hunt for a new Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will create new, and enhance existing commercial partnerships aligned to the Club’s strategic goals to help generate new revenue.
Given the critical nature of the role and the club's ambitious objective to double commercial revenues over the coming years, the new strategy should focus on a few key areas to ensure success. This includes but is not limited to strengthening commercial partnerships, digital transformation, fan engagement & experiences, and optimising ticketing and hospitality sales.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Identify and Research Prospects: Use resources to identify potential commercial prospects, including large local employers, sponsors, the council, educational institutions, and the local community.
2. Understand and Retain Key Customers: Develop a deep understanding of the target audience to ensure their needs are met and business is retained.
3. Develop Creative Partnership Solutions: Listen to potential partners’ priorities and connect them with relevant services/products from the club, Foundation, or Academy.
4. Create a Commercial Pitch: Develop engaging materials such as videos or brochures to highlight the benefits of partnering with the club.
5. Reconnect with Previous Sponsors: Reach out to past sponsors to explore opportunities for renewing partnerships.
6. Leverage EFL Sponsorship Opportunities: Explore collaborations with EFL sponsors, such as Sky Sports, for potential synergies.
7. Manage Events for Partners: Plan and deliver quarterly events for both existing and prospective partners.
8. Oversee Partnership Activations: Manage the execution of agreed sponsorship rights, such as player appearances and match day events.
9. Enhance Matchday Experience: Ensure commercial partners are engaged on match days, meeting their needs to deliver maximum value.
10. Support Ticket Incentives: Work with the foundation to review the ROI of ticket incentives and match day activities.
11. Boost Club’s Digital Presence: Regularly post commercial and hospitality content on the club’s social media.
12. Expand Retail Offerings: Explore ways to enhance and grow the club's retail portfolio.
