Our team is all about collaboration, ensuring we work effectively across Support Offices and from Suppliers right through to Stores. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this Commercial Strategy Manager role is responsible for the end-to-end management of our trade plan, and the development and optimisation of our commercial proposition in our store estate. The role leads a team of trade, merchandising and retail performance leads, and the team works across our product portfolio and across our whole value chain, from suppliers to retails teams. This role plays a key part in influencing teams and senior leaders across multiple functions, including Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Retail. Key Responsibilities Manage the Trade plan, ensuring we have a joined-up, comprehensive and exciting activity plan to promote and leverage our full customer proposition, driving performance across the year and in all of our stores. Execute supplier funding, working with category teams and suppliers to build activity which will drive brand and category performance; the role is responsible for prioritising activity and spend to maximise investments and return for the business. Lead the merchandising processes, ensuring product and property development programmes are executed on time, in collaboration with category, supply and property teams. Optimise the execution of our product portfolio in the retail estate, working with Category and Data Science teams to unlock performance insights, and execute changes which can drive performance further across the portfolio Develop the Commercial requirements within our Property programme, working with Suppliers, Category and Property teams to shape the development of our customer proposition in store, as we strive to build a Leading Service & Proposition and reappraise the brand our customers interact with. Lead a team of retail execution specialists, operating in the field to both maximise the impact of our existing customer proposition and trade plan, and draw insight from store teams to improve our proposition across the estate What you’ll need to have Strategic thinking and execution; able to define growth strategies, with clear goals and outcomes, leading individuals and teams to deliver activity and changes across multiple stakeholders and a large retail estate Analytical thinking; able to interpret data to draw meaningful insight and make decisions to drive commercial benefit across multiple stakeholders Planning and execution; able to develop financial and activity plans and forecasts, to understand the opportunities and impacts of various activities and ensure their delivery.
