Our Legal Team is seeking a Private Client Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our rapidly expanding team. As a Private Client Solicitor, you will be expected to have a solid grounding in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax and Planning Files, as well as experience in working on probate matters. In addition to handling your own caseload, you will be expected to provide support to other members of the team and play a key role in business development.
Your responsibilities
Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:
* Drafting legal documents.
* Managing your own workload of wills, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning files.
* Working on probate matters, submitting IHT paperwork to HMRC and the Probate Registry.
* Communicating with clients and third parties via email, letter, and telephone.
* Assisting paralegals and secretaries in the team with queries.
* Meeting with clients to provide advice in relation to different areas of Private Client law.
* Liaising with colleagues internally regarding client matters.
* Ensuring client work is progressed in a timely manner and that clients are regularly informed on progress and costs.
* Playing a key role in business development.
About you
We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in the role:
* Newly Qualified Solicitor.
* Ability to draft documentation accurately with attention to detail.
* Good communicator with effective client inter-personal skills.
* Able to act as an expert in the field of property and instill confidence in clients.
* Able to actively manage your own workload and take responsibility for your own development.
* Ensuring that all client work is progressed in a timely manner and that clients are regularly informed on progress and costs.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Good IT skills to operate Office and in-house programs.
* Ability to commute to our Grantham office.
