We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Stores Person to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP Onley in Rugby this role is based on-site.
The salary is £24,469.85
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
Stores Person plays an important part in ensuring the maintenance team have all necessary items to be able to maintain the site and that prisoners have items they require during their time there.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00, with an earlier finish every Friday!
You will be responsible for:
Issue required stock to prisoners (clothing etc.) on request and in a timely manner.
Movement of stock – this will involve heavy lifting.
Carry out regular checks on stock to ensure levels are not running low.
Keep the Stores in a good state of cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
Pack and send any items that need to be sent by courier to ensure safe delivery.
Ensure that good records are kept of stock and track stock issued to prisoners.
Collect any items locally as and when required.
Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What makes this role unique is you will provide a service to both your colleagues and prisoners alike, whilst also working alongside prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).

Comfortable working in a prisoner facing role
IT proficient
Ideally you will have experience of working in a stores/stockroom role.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have knowledge of Manual Handling and experience working within a similar store room environment with use of IT packages to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
