37 hours per week At Watford Community Housing, we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. We’re looking for an experienced plumber to join our in-house repairs team and help us deliver a high-quality repairs and maintenance service to our residents. What’s the role? You will be carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair works to an agreed standard and providing a consistently high standard of customer service. All works must be carried out in a safe and responsible manner, whilst being mindful of cleanliness and tidiness standards. You will ensure work is carried out in line with our health & safety guidance and safe systems of work. Our aim is to complete all repairs and planned works, including making good, on our first visit. You’ll work effectively and proactively with colleagues to achieve a first-class repair service. As part of our growing team, you will use your skills and knowledge to help us deliver high-quality housing services. You will be an innovator and able to act on your own initiative to resolve repair issues in a timely manner, taking a strategic approach to your work and taking personal responsibility for delivering for our customers. In this role you will need to: ensure a high standard of customer service take personal responsibility for workmanship make every effort to complete works/repairs on or ahead of the target time. What are we looking for? You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. You’ll have an excellent grasp of plumbing skills and an understanding of how to problem solve. You will have a background in repairs/maintenance, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors would be a distinct advantage. We do ask for a flexible approach to working hours, as well as the ability to respond to emergencies and out-of-hours calls. Essential: Proven experience in the trade Qualifications in plumbing You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance for business use. You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic-level DBS check. Desirable: Knowledge of the housing sector Confident in using a handheld PDA What can we offer you?
