Role Overview
As a Field Engineer, you will work with teams on various wastewater and water projects around the UK & Ireland. The Field Engineer will be part of a small team, installing and maintaining flow monitors, water quality instrumentation and auto-samplers into sewer pipes and rivers around the UK. The work you do will contribute to improving our environment - you will be helping water companies manage their sewer networks, which will help to prevent flooding, reduce pollution, and improve the health of rivers and bathing waters.
Typical Responsibilities
1. Visit various sites to support your Field Crew Leader in setting up safely.
2. Carry out installation, calibration or removal of our equipment, which is usually located inside a confined space or a river environment.
3. Lifting and carrying equipment from the vehicle to the specified site.
Candidate Requirements
Our successful candidate will have:
1. Flexibility towards hours and working away from home (accommodation and meals are paid for by the company).
2. A flexible approach to working at night and some infrequent weekend work.
3. The ability to work well within a team and with a variety of different people, as our teams swap and change.
4. A strong work ethic, positive and can-do attitude, and ability to use your own initiative when faced with problems.
5. Enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable working around raw sewage and in confined spaces.
6. A full UK Driving Licence.
7. The right to work in the UK.
What We Offer
1. Full training including confined space entry certification.
2. A competitive salary starting at £22,700 basic, with overtime and enhanced pay for night working. Uplifted salary based on skills achieved.
3. 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
4. Contributory Company pension scheme.
5. Employee perks scheme shopping/gym/leisure discounts and vouchers.
6. Career development and progression.
Full training will be provided, so you don't need previous experience in the sector; however, a track record in a similar environment would be an advantage. While our head office is in Swillington, Leeds, we have crews around Leeds, Barnsley, and Doncaster - so locations nearby would be suitable. You will need to get to Swillington for training.
Due to the safety-critical nature of the work, successful applicants will be subject to drug and alcohol testing prior to start and on a spot check basis during employment.
