Calvay is looking for new Committee Members to help drive our organisation as we provide quality, affordable homes and services in the Barlanark area of Glasgow.
We are at the heart of our community and have its needs at the heart of all that we do.
We are a medium sized housing association and have a mixture of property types; the original stock acquired from GCC in the 80s, new-build properties and ‘second stage’ transfer properties. We also provide factoring services and lease one commercial unit which is used as a local shop.
Calvay Housing Association is based at the Calvay Centre, which also offers office space to the Quarriers charity. The Centre has an IT suite, is home to Calvay Community Café, and has a hall which is rented out for a variety of activities.

This is not a paid position, but all expenses associated with attending meetings will be reimbursed. Experience in the housing sector is not a requirement as training and support in the post will be given. The commitment we require from you is one evening meeting per month which can be attended in person at our office or from your home via a Zoom link. You will also be involved in our annual business planning strategy day and will have the opportunity to attend housing training events. This is a great opportunity to enhance your existing skills and experience especially if you are looking to further your career in the housing sector or in management.

About Us: Airdrie Citizens Advice Bureau is a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, dedicated to providing free, independent, impartial, and confidential advice to individuals in our community. We assist clients with a wide range of issues, including benefits, debt, employment, housing, and more. Our mission is to ensure that people understand their rights and responsibilities and can express their needs effectively.
Role Overview: As a volunteer trustee, you will play a crucial role in the strategic management and governance of our bureau. Person Specification:
We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate:
* Commitment: A strong dedication to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service, including the values of free, confidential, impartial, and independent advice.
* Strategic Vision: The ability to think creatively and strategically, identifying opportunities and challenges for the bureau.
* Teamwork: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
* Integrity: A commitment to upholding the highest standards of governance and ethics.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
* Human Resources
* Digital Marketing
* Governance
* Public and Third Sector Organisations
Time Commitment: Trustees are expected to attend board meetings (every two months) and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Additionally, trustees may participate in sub-committees or working groups as needed. The total time commitment is estimated to be approximately 4 to 6 hours per month.

Cairn Housing Group requires an experienced Corporate Officer to support both the Governance Services Manager and the Health & Safety Manager.
Key duties and responsibilities include supporting the Boards, Committees, Working Groups and staff groups as directed by the Governance Services Manager, ensuring that meetings are organised, papers are co-ordinated, circulated, fully minuted and run according to the regulatory and organisational standards set. Monitoring follow-up actions, updating records/registers in compliance with organisational, regulatory and statutory requirements, and completing other governance administration tasks as directed. Supporting the Health & Safety Manager for Cairn Housing Group with various administrative tasks as directed to ensure safe, effective and compliant processes and procedures throughout the organisation.
The successful applicant should have strong administration skills, a relevant academic/industry qualification or significant experience (3 yrs) in a similar role, experience of working with and supporting senior management teams, experience of producing high quality minutes for governing bodies and committees. Knowledge of governance and health & safety issues would be advantageous.
A willingness to travel and to be able to occasionally stay away from home overnight may be required.

Women on Wheels is a women, girls and non-binary people cycling charity based in the heart of Govanhill, Glasgow. We encourage and support women, girls and non-binary people to learn how to cycle more confidently and safely. We strive to make cycling more accessible and inclusive to all women, girls and non-binary people, particularly those overcoming barriers such as lack of confidence, limited access to resources relating to cycling and safety concerns. We cater to all abilities and provide a variety of different skill-set sessions for both women and families. We are dedicated to supporting all women to learn to cycle, and as we grow, we’re looking for leaders who share our vision and want to help guide our organisation toward a brighter future.

Commitment
Meetings: 2 hour meeting every 6 weeks - usually online.
Responsibilities: Board members may need to carry out tasks and report back to the Board, which could require an additional 2 hours of volunteer time each month.
This is a voluntary position, though expenses will be reimbursed.
