Our public sector client based in South Tyneside is looking for an Assistive Technology Officer to join their team as soon as possible The role will be temporary, lasting until the end of July initially, working full time hours Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The department runs a 24/7 service and so shift times will include 07:00-14:00, 14:00-21:00 and 21:00-07:00. The pay rate for the role will be £13.05 per hour. Working within the technology and independence service, you will be based within the call monitoring centre answering calls from emergency assistive technology alerts, out of hours calls for the wider council and for the home repairs service. Duties of the role will include:- · Receiving and answering calls and alerts from assistive technology users, contractors, locally based staff, managers and other internal and external bodies · Assess and identify the nature and reason for the call, acting to reassure the caller · Initiate appropriate action e.g. contacting emergency or medical services, key holder or maintenance services · Ensure all physical responses are completed within 45 minutes · Ensure important information is efficiently passed onto the next shift · Complete reviews/maintenance of equipment within people's homes and record outcomes on the system · Record all referrals on the system · Undertake administration duties To be considered for the role you should be IT literate and have excellent customer service skills.
