* Standard 40 Hour Working Week 7am – 4pm Monday to Thursday (including ½ Hour Lunch Breaks), 7am – 1pm Friday
* £20.00 Per Hour Standard Rate
* £30.00 Per Hour Overtime Monday to Saturday Morning
* £40.00 per Hour Overtime Saturday Afternoon & Sunday
Position Overview: We are looking for a CNC Turner who is proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC Lathes (Hurco ideally). The ideal candidate will have experience working with Hurco controls or other similar transferrable systems. They will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production of Jigs and Fixtures and meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Versed within the manufacture of Jigs and Fixtures or tooling – working in a bespoke manufacturing environment.
* Select and install cutting tools, adjust tool offsets, and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
* Interpret and modify CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes and minimize cycle times.
* Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations and prevent downtime.
* Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
* Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
* CNC Turning – on modern Hurco machines with Winmax systems.
* We are willing to look at other operating systems to transition skills from as Winmax is very conversant.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a CNC Turner with proficiency in programming, setting, and operating lathes
* Proficiency with Hurco controls is required.
* CADCAM Experience desirable
* Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
