The Blackburn with Darwen Network Management team deliver vital services on a daily basis to manage the highway network in the borough, ensuring that it is as free flowing and safe as possible for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users. A key duty of the service is also to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in collisions on the highway in the borough.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Traffic Engineer to join our team, to assist the Network Manager to manage and deliver the network management duty of the highway authority through the design, installation and operation of traffic management, including traffic signal and control systems, and road safety schemes across the borough.
We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering the network management duty and identifying existing road safety issues on the Boroughs road network, being able to create innovative solutions to these issues.
Ideal candidates will be excellent communicators and able to demonstrate that they can work alongside key stakeholders and local communities.
