Senior Electrical Project Engineer, Edinburgh, Permanent
Our Client is a Global Facilities company with an excellent presence and reputation in the UK. They are growing the team in Edinburgh and are seeking to hire an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to work on their strong pipe-line of M&E projects countrywide from a base in Edinburgh
As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, your responsibilities will span from initial project concept to final implementation and operation, ensuring adherence to our clients Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice.
As the Senior Project Electrical Engineer you will lead a team of project engineers, focusing on safe working practices while providing engineering and technology support liaise with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Initially you would be expected to work on projects up to £10 million but with each successful completion the bar will be raised ensuring progression and variety.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following duties:
Undertake design, development, procurement, installation and commissioning responsibilities, as part of the project procedures.
Prepare detailed governance structure, project plans and progress reports.
Development of detailed engineering requirements and specifications for process / project improvements and enhancements with supporting risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations and hazard/operability considerations (HAZOPS).
Prepares detailed project plans and progress reports.
Adherence to relevant sections of our clients Standards, HSE guidance and Codes of Practice.
working with a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen and contractor employees engaged in site work specific to the projects, with the focus on safe working practices.
Provides engineering and technology support to engineers and project managers / Teams.
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of engineering equipment developments and applications, specific to the job, and for the requirement of ongoing personal professional development.
Liaises with Project and Engineering functions from other businesses within our clients network as required.
Compiling cost and resource forecast data.
What you will need
A Degree or HNC/HND or degree equivalent in an appropriate discipline
Successful track record on small to large M&E projects ideally from a commercial or educational or NHS jobs
You should have excellent budget management skills, comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent problem-solving abilities, are essential
You should be capable of working effectively at all levels within the organization and have a strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations.
