We currently have a great opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to be based within our facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol on a full-time permanent basis. Ideally candidates will have a firm grasp of CDM and familiarity with the RIBA stages, as well as experience within a healthcare background.
Key activities:
1. To lead projects, delivering project solutions to budget, time and quality requirements. To manage matrix managed project teams to deliver various project delivery solutions effectively utilising in-house resource and sub-contract arrangements as appropriate.
2. To assume and assert commercial control over projects allocated to deliver margins identified. To work as part of a team to build on reputation, capability and delivering efficiently to ensure the projects team maintains a strong project pipeline and develop new leads and clients.
3. Act as a programme coordinator for the site and to ensure appropriate resource is available and allocated to deliver projects successfully.
4. Take profit and loss responsibility for the site, and ensure the programme is in place.
5. To own each project and delivery with a high degree of attention to design, construction and financial detail; deliver projects without LADs being applied.
6. To be accountable for the service delivery in accordance with business systems, such as quality assurance, environmental management system, financial systems, administration and policies.
7. Set and manage client expectations through clear communication centred around programme, budget and the quality of services.
8. To manage the development of detailed Work Method Statements, Risk and COSHH and CDM assessments for all work activity undertaken by in-house and contracted staff ensuring complete compliance; maintain high and statutory compliant health and safety standards on project sites at all times.
9. Maintain all project administrative activities, including Quality Assurance and procedures associated with monitoring contract performance.
10. Manage supply chain ensuring formal performance feedback is provided to the procurement team.
11. Working 40 hours per week, from 08:45 to 17:45, Monday to Friday.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
1. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
2. Desirable to have a Building Services qualification.
3. Fully understand CDM.
4. Familiar with the RIBA stages.
5. Excellent communication skills together with proven experience of drawing together efficient teams.
6. Able to demonstrate knowledge of all applicable legislation, regulations and standards.
7. Strong client facing and customer services skills with the ability to cope with demanding and varied customer requirements.
8. Must have a track record of successful management and delivery of projects as well as experience of successful partnership.
