Job Summary: Perms Direct is seeking a passionate and dedicated Room Leader for our Toddler or Pre-School Room for a well-established nursery in Croydon. The Room Leader will oversee the daily operations of the room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for young children. This role involves leading a team of staff, planning and implementing educational activities, and maintaining strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Supervision: Lead and manage the team within the assigned room, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
* Childcare and Education: Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
* Parental Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
* Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of children’s development, attendance, and any incidents. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other room leaders and staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare and education across the setting.
* Professional Development: Stay updated with current best practices in early childhood education and care, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
Qualifications Needed:
1.
Education:
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).

Experience:
* At least 2 years of experience working in an early years setting.
* Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly desirable.

Certifications:
* Paediatric First Aid certification.
* Safeguarding training and knowledge of child protection policies.
