We are currently seeking a dynamic Engineering Services Senior Lead to join our growing team and support the successful delivery of construction projects across both the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospital University NHS Trust estate.

Role Overview:
The Senior Lead - Engineering Services will be responsible for overseeing the engineering design and execution of healthcare construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the engineering services meet or exceed client expectations, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of healthcare facility design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:
Deputise for Head of Projects: Represent the Head of Projects in key governance committees and senior management meetings in their absence. Ensure continuity and decision-making in project leadership.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all new buildings and construction projects meet the latest health, safety, and legislation standards, with a focus on net-zero and sustainability requirements.
Project Management: Oversee major construction projects, lifecycle works, and departmental moves, often managing multiple projects simultaneously in varying stages of completion.
Delivering Schemes & Developments: Manage capital, commercial, lifecycle, and revenue schemes across PFI projects and satellite sites. Ensure projects are delivered to the agreed specifications while optimizing service delivery, cost management, and value for money.
Liaison with Technical Stakeholders: Act as the key link between projects and all technical stakeholders to ensure continuity from design through to construction and ongoing operations and maintenance.
Statutory & Healthcare Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant statutory requirements, healthcare guidance, and regulations, including best practices for healthcare facility design and construction.
Safety and Governance Representation: Represent the Projects Team in Safety Groups, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Line Management: Provide line management and mentoring to the Senior and Project Managers, supporting their professional growth and ensuring the successful delivery of projects under their supervision.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Skills & Knowledge
* Relevant technical qualification to at least Higher Technical level (Degree level preferred) in an engineering or construction or facilities management subject.
* Minimum of 3+ years' experience in an Estates or Technical role within an estate's environment preferably within Healthcare/MOD or other regulated environment.
* High degree of commitment, motivation and personal interest in working in healthcare.
* Professional Membership of a relevant organization e.g. IEMA, IWFM, Engineering Council or BIFM
* Working in a Property Management/construction/building services environment.
* Knowledge of project and programme management techniques.

Salary: £62,215 to £72,293 a year pro rata, per annum
