We are looking for a Team Manager, Rights of Access to Land to join our Legal team based in Bradford (BD4). This hybrid role, with expectations to work in the office at least two days a week.
As Liberty Blume's Legal Operations Team continues to grow during this exciting period of expansion and change, we are seeking a Team Manager to join our Real Estate team. The Team Manager will oversee two teams of solicitors and paralegals specialising in Real Estate and Telecommunication law. This role involves providing legal advice on wayleave agreements, trespass matters, diversions, and the Electronic Communications Code, while also offering insights and suggestions to enhance client processes and efficiency.
What will you be doing?
1. Gain a thorough understanding of all workstreams: Wayleave, Trespass, Diversion, and Real Estate matters for technical sites.
2. Analyse and report on team performance.
3. Motivate and mentor the team to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to meet the agreed outcomes in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
4. Lead KPI and Management Information (MI) across workstreams, ensuring effective KPI/MI systems are in place for the teams.
5. Ensure compliant claims handling in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
6. Lead service review meetings with stakeholders, presenting monthly MI including key insights, project updates, and changes made based on stakeholder feedback.
7. Identify and manage legal risks, escalating them clearly and precisely to management when appropriate.
8. Present complex legal matters to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in a high-level, concise format to facilitate key commercial decisions.
9. Offer creative and practical solutions to problems where litigation is not the appropriate response.
10. Manage stakeholders through clear and impactful verbal and written communication.
11. Regularly review the Master Service Agreement (MSA) to ensure the team is delivering the agreed service and identify new workstreams that can generate additional revenue for Liberty Global.
12. Assist the procurement team in drafting change notes to the MSA.
We tend to look for people with:
Essential
1. Proven experience in team management
2. Knowledge of the Electronic Communication Code or Experience in real estate commercial transactions.
3. Experience in engaging with stakeholders and clients at all levels.
Preferred
1. Qualified Solicitor with significant hands-on experience
2. Experience in Telecom, Utility or in-house environment
3. General land knowledge
