Job Description Summary
In this role, the Furnace Technician will be responsible for all furnaces within the facility including but not limited to the vacuum furnaces, black powder furnace and CAMCO furnaces.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
2. Special education and/or vocational training.
3. 6-10 years' Maintenance or equivalent experience.
4. Possess advanced problem-solving/troubleshooting skills on production/facility equipment.
5. This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug and background screen.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
1. First point of contact for facility furnaces and leak check machines including preventative maintenance, repair, and problem-solving.
2. Complete regulatory preventative maintenance as assigned on all furnaces, Pfeiffer leak check machines, vacuum furnaces, etc.
3. Assist in maintaining the preventative maintenance program, ensuring proper documentation of work order completion metrics and identifies areas of improvement.
4. Maintain spare parts inventory on all furnaces including but not limited to CAMCO, leak check machines, etc.
5. Works cross-functionally to assist in the planning of machine installation and/or departmental layouts.
6. Complete all required trainings annually.
7. Perform routine maintenance of furnaces to NADCAP specifications; assists with NADCAP audits as necessary.
8. Possess intermediate working knowledge of primary facility systems (I.E., HVAC, electrical, water, etc.).
9. Ensures various security systems are properly functioning (I.E., fire detection and suppression, building access, etc.)
10. Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft.
11. Assist in operating and maintaining machine coolant recycling system.
12. Possess commercial electrical knowledge including 3 phase electrical installation.
13. Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow all safety procedures.
14. Ability and willingness to cross-train employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
15. Other duties as assigned.
