ABOUT THE ROLE
The Department of Architecture and Built Environment (ABE) at Northumbria University engages with the full spectrum of disciplines that shape the future of our built environment including Architecture, Interior Architecture, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, and Real Estate.
Working within the ABE, you will provide expertise in the subject area of Built Environment to further enhance research, teaching, and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high-quality academic outputs, participating in competitive research funding applications, and external activity to generate income and promote the discipline.
We will consider high-quality applications, from both early career and senior academics, in areas relevant to our teaching or research activities and from candidates with previous industry experience.
* You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in built environment related area with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy.
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality research-led teaching within an appropriate field, a strong publication profile, and ability to collaborate with academics and professionals from other disciplines are desirable.
* A developing track record in an area related to the department's research groups, and/or the wider interdisciplinary research themes of the University. Applicants should indicate how they would wish to develop their research through publication, funded research, and the supervision of research degrees.
