Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an International Customs Coordinator to work within our high performing International Operations Department based at Hinckley.
As the International Customs Coordinator you will be required to complete customs export and import declarations for the business within a suitable time window to ensure goods clear Customs and meet the service transit times. This will be achieved by working with our customers, internal partners and external authorities including HMRC and Border Force to ensure that our world class service is not compromised.
In addition you will provide Customs advice to other teams and departments within the wider organisation.
Other Key responsibilities of this role will include;
1. Complete customs declarations (including commodity codes) in a timely manner
2. Ensure internal controls are maintained to guarantee we meet the highest standards of customs compliance
3. Raise issues of non-compliance within the import and export operation to the International Compliance Manager and International Management team and ensure remedial action is completed in accordance with customs regulations and UK/ International law
4. Work with the International Compliance Manager and the International Customs Specialist to support and advise customers and internal account managers on all aspects of international exporting and importing customs requirements
5. Maintain records, report and resolve noncompliance of customs import/export entry declarations and Customs inspections relating to the International operation
6. Research and resolve customs related import and export enquiries
7. Assist with the management of ETSF storage inventory, customs inspections and Transit Arrivals/Departures
8. Maintain records to satisfy all HMRC and Border Force requirements and accommodate internal audits
9. Be a point of contact for our UK outsource partner(s) relating to import/export operational tasks and ensure pre-import/export audits requirements are actioned in a timely manner
10. Undertake specific projects, working groups, cross functional support or other duties as required by the Compliance Manager in order to drive and enhance the business in all customs related areas
Qualifications
What we are looking for;
To be considered for this role you must have hands on customs process experience, preferably in the completion of import or export declarations. You will also have experience in completing customs invoices or an excellent knowledge of that process. You will be passionate about delivering an outstanding and professional service to our internal and external customers.
Your excellent communication and organisational skills will be fully utilised in this role as will your ability to prioritise and manage multiple case loads. We will also expect you to have;
11. Excellent time management skills.
12. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages or Google Suite.
