Description
The Operations Manager leads, directs, and controls the day-to-day activities of the Stockport site, encompassing production, warehouse, and supply chain operations. The primary goal is to achieve financial and operational objectives, deliver excellent customer service, and ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
The Operations Manager reports to the UK General Manager and is responsible for managing production, warehouse, and facilities teams. Collaboration with Sales & Marketing and Purchasing is essential. The role also oversees Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety.
1. Manage and lead the Warehouse and Production operations.
2. Site leadership, communication, and coordination.
3. Plan and manage the manufacturing team to meet business plan objectives and quality standards.
4. Manage the warehouse and supply chain to optimize lead times and service levels.
5. Ensure timely delivery of manufactured goods.
6. Provide guidance, manage workloads, and ensure adequate resourcing.
7. Manage inventory (Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods).
8. Implement process improvements and establish a lean culture.
9. Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
10. Implement and maintain quality systems.
11. Meet financial targets, manage budgets, control costs, and plan investments.
12. Prepare monthly reports on business measures and service status.
13. Plan and lead projects within agreed specifications, budgets, and timelines.
14. Coach and appraise staff, fostering a positive and motivated team environment.
15. Responsible for Profit and Loss for the operational activities for Stockport.
Profile
1. Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Business Administration, or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
2. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or 5S implementation.
3. Experience in the manufacturing sector as a site leader is a must in recent years in a permanent role, with a proven track record over time in this role.
4. Proven experience in an Operations, Warehouse, or Production Management role within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
5. Strong knowledge of 5S Methodology, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.
6. Strong understanding of Health and Safety Regulations (NEBOSH, IOSH).
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong customer focus and drive for results.
9. Strong project management skills.
Job Offer
£70,000 to £78,000 plus car allowance, bonus, and benefits.
