About the Role
We are recruiting 1:1 teaching assistants to support and care for the following:
1. A Year 8 pupil (KS3)
2. A Year 4 pupil (KS2)
3. A Year 7 pupil (KS3)
4. A Year 6 pupil (KS2)
5. A Year 7 pupil (KS3)
6. 3 days job share – A Year 5 pupil (KS3)
7. A Year 12 Pupil (KS5)
Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will support the pupils in their academic learning, accessing the multi-sensory curriculum, as well as in developing their personal, social, communicative and independent living skills. This will be both on and outside of the school site. You will be expected to carry out physical tasks such as dressing and supporting with personal care needs. Experience of working with ASD is essential, and experience of VI is desirable. Weekly swimming sessions are expected. You will be provided with suitable training to support the individual and their targets/outcomes, which will be identified during the interview process. These might include OT and SALT strategies and emotional regulation.
Personal Qualities
You should be qualified to at least NVQ level 3 in a relevant field. Ideally, you will have had experience of working with children with VI, sensory processing, complex and medical needs. A strong understanding of the full curriculum and how to apply this in supporting the class teacher during multi-sensory lessons is required. We are looking for team players with a can-do attitude, patience, perseverance and a drive to make a difference.
