Job Description: Finance Assistant
Location: Gateshead (Remote or Office-Based)
Salary: £25,000+ (Potential to increase to £30,000+ in the future)
Working Hours: Open to part-time and full-time (minimum 3 days per week), Remote working available
About the Companies: The company based in Gateshead, recently acquired another company. The companies are looking to integrate their financial operations and are seeking a Finance Assistant to support this transition.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Management: Oversee financial operations remotely, including managing the inbox, reconciling payments, and adding invoices and bills to the system.
2. Payment Processing: Handle payment runs, cash flows, and banking activities.
3. Reconciliation: Perform reconciliation of expenses, VAT, and other financial statements using Sage, with a future transition to Xero within the next 12 months.
4. Financial Monitoring: Ensure accurate input of payments, reconciliations, and remittances into the system and spreadsheets. Monitor financial transactions to maintain oversight of cash flow.
5. Credit Returns and Statements: Manage credit returns and reconcile statements.
6. Collaboration: Work with the Service Manager who currently handles parts of invoicing, and coordinate with the sales team and other finance personnel.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Proficient in Sage for reconciliation of expenses, VAT, and other financial tasks. Experience with Xero is a plus.
2. Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
3. Flexibility: Open to remote work or working within the Gateshead office.
