We are now looking for Social Media Officer to join our Carmarthen or Swansea campus on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. THE ROLE The Social Media Officer’s primary role is to support the Marketing team with the planning, organisation and delivery of social media activity that attracts prospective students to study with the University. The role will primarily focus on creating and scheduling different types of content that encourages positive engagement with the University brand across its suite of social media platforms. The Social Media Officer will be managed by the Social Media Manager but will also be expected to build close professional relationships with managers and colleagues throughout UWTSD to ensure a proactive and planned approach to all of the University’s social media activity. The Social Media Officer will be responsible for overseeing a group of Content Creators. The Social Media Officer’s primary location will be in either Carmarthen or Swansea. However, the post holder may also be required to visit other UWTSD campuses to provide advice and guidance to colleagues. ABOUT YOU To be considered as a Social Media Officer you will need: A degree level qualification or equivalent. Previous experience of working in a marketing environment. Demonstrable experience of successfully creating content for corporate social media accounts. Demonstrable experience of planning, implementing and evaluating social media campaigns. Evidence of capability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to apply attention to detail. Experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders. Able to work as part of a team, in partnership with others, and unsupervised. Strong copywriting skills, recognizing the importance of tone of voice, with experience of writing for a variety of audiences. Excellent IT skills. Ability to communicate at a high level through the medium of Welsh oral and written. The ability to use the Welsh language at Level C1 CEFR 3.3 or higher (CEFR is the Common European Framework Reference for Languages). This means that you can understand a wide range of texts, and recognise implicit meaning. You can express yourself fluently and spontaneously using language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on a range of subjects. Knowledge of effective communication practices and experience of drafting engaging bilingual marketing material. Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality. Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses and other locations when required. It would be desirable to also have: Professional marketing qualification or another related field. Membership of a relevant professional association e.g. Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Previous experience of working in Higher Education. Demonstrable project management experience. Experience of managing a budget.
