Mental Health Staff Nurse - Incentives Apply
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Langley Green Hospital on Coral Ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and inspiring Band 5 Staff Nurse / Preceptorship Nurse to join our team. Someone who has a passion for exceptionally high standards of patient care, who is enthusiastic, innovative and wants to work in a service that is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care.
We are a 19-bedded ward based in Langley Green Hospital in Crawley. Crawley is situated closely to London and Brighton and benefits from a thriving, vibrant and diverse community. Coral Ward has an experienced team and works collaboratively with other wards and services within the hospital and the wider community.
This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for Band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
Main Duties of the Job
As a Staff Nurse / Preceptorship Nurse, your responsibilities will be to:
* Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency, and learning;
* Effectively run the shift and attend regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans;
* Build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns;
* Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor side effects;
* Accurately record patient information and communicate with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs;
* Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student nurses to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment;
* Perform administrative duties, including screening, assessment, and follow-up support of patients;
* Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Work a flexible shift pattern which includes Long Days (07:00 - 19:30) and Nights (19:00 - 07:30), including weekends and bank holidays.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
Knowledge/Experience
* Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
* Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), including practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS, and Best Interest decisions.
* Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
* Change management, organizing and prioritizing workloads.
* Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
* Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group.
* Demonstrate ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
