Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
A highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist is required to join our team as soon as possible.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible team-player who can offer therapeutic interventions that aid pupils' emotional and physical well-being.
They will use key theories such as zones of regulation and sensory integration to support development and access learning.
As an ambassador for the organisation's brand and vision, they will be a role-model of best practice and demonstrate support and care of pupils at the very highest of levels.
Purpose of the Role:
* Work collaboratively with key colleagues to maximise progress.
* Offer therapy sessions on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or with whole classes.
* Develop a therapeutic presence across two schools, supporting both Primary and Secondary students.
* Lead staff training and development to ensure integrated therapy and learning provision.
* Implement therapeutic interventions that aid children's emotional and physical wellbeing, using zones of regulation and sensory integration to support development and access learning.
Core Responsibilities:
* To plan, resource and prepare effective and engaging therapy programmes for children.
* Liaise professionally with colleagues as appropriate.
* BUILD positive working relationships with children's families.
* Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times.
* Plan, lead and deliver whole-staff therapeutic training.
Essential Requirements:
* Accredited occupational therapy programme certification and registration with the HCPC.
* Experience working with children and young people in challenging contexts.
* High level of competence in English and mathematics.
* Operate effectively in a classroom environment with children with SEMH who present challenging behaviour.
