They will ensure delivery of high quality and efficient outpatient services, delivering key quality performance and financial plans and service enhancements. The post holder will support the Head of OPD to provide safe, effective and efficient management of the department with allocated resources, acting as a clinical role model and leader for all members of staff and working within a budget. They will assist in the operational delivery of outpatients services against HMTs key performance indicators, ensuring the efficient running of the department; this will include clinical work in the department. They will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the care needs of the out patients. They will take charge of the department, supervise and teach junior members of staff and act up in the absence of the Head of OPD. The post holder will be required to provide high standards of direct patient care to a variety of different surgical patients within the department.
