Do you want to help people to gain more control over their lives?
Do you enjoy working with a range of professionals and resources in developing peoples’ skills and confidence?
If so, then becoming a Reablement Support Worker may be the post for you….
Please note that this post does not qualify or meet the criteria as per Home Office Regulations to be eligible for a certificate of sponsorship visa category.
Rotherham Reablement Service works with people in the community to help them learn new skills or increase confidence in their daily activities. The people we see may have experienced a spell of ill health or change in their circumstances so need some short term support to allow them to return to previous levels of independence. The service differs from ‘traditional’ home care support in that the emphasis is on helping people to ‘do’ for themselves rather than having things done for them.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct support to clients in their own home, assisting with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and meal preparation.
2. Support clients in identifying and joining local community groups.
3. Promote the overall wellbeing of clients, encouraging independence.
4. Work shifts within the service operational hours from 6.45 am until 10 pm.
5. Participate in regular supervision and team meetings.
We are looking to recruit Reablement Support Workers, working 25 hours per week. You will be provided with uniform and will potentially be working across the whole of the Rotherham borough. Travel is an essential part of this job and although being a car user is not essential, the expectation would be that postholders can travel across the Rotherham Borough, within a reasonable timescale. The successful applicants will be joining a supportive and motivated team who value learning and work in close partnership with other professionals in the area. A full induction and training is provided.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity before applying, then please don’t hesitate in contacting Karen Duke (Deputy Manager) on 01709 255754 / 07748142992 or by emailing Karen.Duke@rotherham.gov.uk or Sandra Hatfield on 07786 335914 or by emailing Sandra.hatfield@rotherham.gov.uk
